NEW YORK — Cross Bay community officials proudly announced the return of the annual "Celebrate Cross Bay!" Summer Festival, slated for Saturday, July 19, 2026, at Veterans Park. The event, a beloved tradition, aims to bring together residents from across the Boulevard and surrounding neighborhoods for a day of music, food, and family-friendly activities.
This year's festival holds special significance as it marks a return to a full-scale event after several years of scaled-back celebrations. Organizers anticipate welcoming over 5,000 attendees throughout the day, creating a vibrant atmosphere that truly embodies the spirit of Cross Bay.
A Day of Family Fun
The festival will kick off at 11:00 AM with a parade featuring local school marching bands and community groups, proceeding north along Cross Bay Boulevard to the park entrance. Throughout the day, Veterans Park will host live musical performances on two stages, showcasing local talent from various genres.
Children's activities will include face painting, bouncy castles, and a dedicated craft zone, ensuring entertainment for all ages. Local food vendors, offering a diverse array of cuisines, will line the park's perimeter, inviting attendees to savor the flavors of Queens.
Supporting Local Businesses and Artisans
Beyond entertainment, the "Celebrate Cross Bay!" festival provides a crucial platform for local businesses and artisans to showcase their products and services. Over 75 vendors, ranging from handmade jewelry creators to small batch food producers, are expected to participate.
"This festival is more than just a party; it's an economic driver for our community," stated Angela Perez, President of the Cross Bay Chamber of Commerce. "It gives our local entrepreneurs a fantastic opportunity to connect with thousands of potential customers, strengthening the economic fabric of Cross Bay Boulevard." The event is a collaborative effort, organized by the Cross Bay Community Association with significant support from Community Board 10 and numerous local sponsors. Lead sponsors this year include the Cross Bay Diner and Capital One Bank.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and the dedication of our volunteers," said Mark Davis, Chair of the festival's organizing committee. "Their commitment makes it possible to host an event of this scale that truly celebrates what makes Cross Bay special."
Ensuring a Smooth and Safe Experience
Safety remains a top priority for event organizers. The 106th Precinct will have a strong presence throughout the day, managing traffic flow and ensuring public order. First aid stations will be strategically located, staffed by certified medical professionals.
Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation or carpool due to anticipated limited parking around Veterans Park. Specific public transportation routes and road closure information will be announced closer to the festival date. This focus on local events creates strong community stories.
